This is my first Tutorial so my apologies if it stinks . I tried to cover all of the steps, I’ll revise it if you find problems.
Note: you can use this to download at home or on your seedbox.
***Edit- Or both at the same time using the FTP upload method
There are a lot of irc scripts that allow members of a private tracker to download right out of the #Announce channel, but many of them require some knowledge of code, and don’t support multiple trackers. Good news! There is an idiot proof plugin for Chatzilla, an irc client that is an add-on for Firefox.
Auto-downloading via rss is ok, but sometimes it can be up to 15 minutes before you add the torrent to your client. By utilizing irc announce channels you get the torrent added as soon as it is uploaded, giving you a great chance of improving your ratio.
This Tutorial will deal with the basics of the set up for Digital Hive. I am assuming that you are a registered user of our irc, and that you know how to open the announce channel. I am also assuming you have a working torrent client that has an auto-add feature (utorrent, deluge, rtorrent, etc.). And if you don’t know what Firefox is I can’t help you
This is super easy, so you should breeze through this.
Step One:
Install Chatzilla if you don’t already have it.
Chatzilla: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/16/
Step Two:
Install the Autodl plugin for Chatzilla.
Autodl plugin for Chatzilla: http://sourceforge.net/projects/autodl/
Now Close and restart Chatzilla if you had it open.
You should see Auto Downloader added to your Chatzilla menu bar.
Step Three:
Connect to Digital Hive’s irc network and join the Announce channel.
Step Four:
Click on the Auto Downloader tab from the menu bar. Select “Tracker Settings”. You’ll see a number of trackers, but we want to focus on DH so click on Digital-Hive from the selctions. This will tell you how to input your id and passkey so you can download from Chatzilla.
To make it easy on you, it will tell you to type this into your address bar:
javascript:document.innerHTML=document.cookie
Just copy and past what comes up after you hit enter into the appropriate slot in tracker settings like so:
(I blacked out the other trackers to comply with DH rules and my id and pass cause you guys are all a bunch of thieves and vagrants )

Then click “OK”
Step Five:
Click on Auto Downloader again and select “Preferences”. There are a lot of things you can do here, but we are going to keep it simple so just click the “Upload Method” tab. Here you want to browse for your “auto add torrents from” in your bit torrent client, here is a shot of my directories in utorrent from home:
From utorrent

And here is how it looks after adding it to Upload Method:

This way as soon as it hits the Announce channel it will add to your client automatically.
I use this at home and on my seedbox as I belong to a very liberal Seedbox/Server sharing community so I have access to Firefox and most programs I need, but if you have a seedbox where you can’t use Chatzilla, you can run it locally on your home PC and upload through either your webui for utorrent or FTP, however you normally do it. I haven’t done these myself, but the utorrent webui looks fairly easy, and the FTP is just inputting your login info. Then just select the right watch/auto add torrents folder on your seedox.
***EDIT- I have successfully tried the FTP upload method and it downloaded the torrent, FTP’ed it to my seedbox and started the download in a total time of 5.95 seconds. You can download both to your local machine and your Seedbox as well, in case there are some that you want directly downloaded to your home and some that you want the seedbox to handle. This can be done using the “Overide Global Upload Method” in the Filter section. Just make sure your path to your auto load torrent/watch folder is correct. Input your ftp login details in the Preferences section. Here is a shot of my global upload method overide:

Or of course you can just use that as your global method if you don’t ever download to home.
Click “OK”
Step Six:
Once again click on Auto Downloader and this time go to “Filters”. Here You want to Click “New” and name your filter. I used “Digital Hive” for this Tutorial, but you can name it whatever you like. We are going to keep it simple again only using the General tab for selecting torrents.
If you have used an rss auto downloader before you will be ok here because the wildcard language is the same- “?” between words of multi-word titles to signify that anything in the blank space like a . or an_ is ok, “*” at the end of the title to signify that anything after the title is ok like the group name or codec, and a “,” between titles.
So if you were looking for a tv show/s: The?Mentalist*,ACiDs?House?of?Style*,
Or a specific movie release: Brooklyns?Finest*720p?BRRip?Xvid?AC3-Rx*,
Notice how I put the * after the movie name. that means what ever comes between the movie name and the encode I want which is the 720p Xvid is ok no matter how many characters. * for multiple characters, ? for 1 character. It helps that Rx tags their releases the same every time .
Then click “Match Sites” and select Digital-Hive.
Then the last thing I do is set a limit on the size of the file I want to download. I know an Xvid TV rip for an hour long show is about 350 MB so I set the limit at 450 MB (note in the program there is no space, just “450MB”). This way I won’t grab the x264 which comes in at around 1.08 GB . There is also a minimum size so if you want x264 you can limit the size to 450 MB to exclude Xvid…. etc, etc….
You can also set up multiple filters for the same tracker, so if you want and Xvid of one show, and an x264 of another, just make a second filter.
You can add as many shows in each filter as you like.
Here is a shot of a set up:

Then just click “OK”
That’s it. Just leave Chatzilla running and you’ll get your torrents before people who aren’t using an irc script. It’s a neat little tool and has lots of other features, but I’ll let you find those out on your own.
Hope this works for you.
Happy torrenting.
